It has been a busy year so far at the GCSN with a number of schools and kura, ākonga, and kaiako already involved in a wide range of creative and innovative initiatives. From PLD, creative learning opportunities, research and our recently launched podcasting competition, Top of the Pods, we are looking ahead to Terms 3 and 4.

This full day session provides ākonga with an opportunity to explore the use of artificial intelligence in filmmaking. Students will work together to learn the basis of film production and how AI tools and techniques can be incorporated to develop a short movie. trailer. Ōtautahi Learning Days 2024

Redzone Recovery
This event was a collaboration between all schools rather than a competition. Teams worked together to create what they believe could be done to create community-focused areas and spaces along the Ōtākaro Redzone. 11 schools got involved in the full-day event hosted at Tūranga Library on Monday 13 May. Check out the images from the event below!
AI for Educators
Delivered as two workshops, this in-person event facilitated by Wilj Dekkers gave kaiako an opportunity to explore AI tools like Copilot, ChatGPT and Google Gemini. Educators left the session with practical experience about these technologies, including 1:1 focus on kaiako with specific needs.
