AI Workshops & Resources

January 2025

Artificial Intelligence (AI) Workshops

We have created three workshops for kaiako to support them to meaningfully integrate AI in the classroom in innovative and effective ways while ensuring it is used safely and responsibly. Each workshop is suitable for self-directed learning or to guide staff PLD and include examples, discussion points, questions and activities.

The workshops are intended to be completed sequentially to provide a deeper dive into what generative AI means for education and how educators can use it in a responsible and beneficial way.

Access each of the workshops below.

Workshop 1: genAI Concerns and Creative Work

What generative AI (genAI) is, how it works and what it means for schools/kura.

Workshop 2: Keeping Safe with genAI

Safety and ethical considerations of genAI and how to ensure ākonga safely use genAI to support learning.

Workshop 3: Integrating genAi into Learning

Ways that genAI can be integrated to meaningfully enhance learning, rather than replace it.

Additional Artificial Intelligence (AI) resources

We have created additional generative AI-related resources to support kaiako and schools/kura to effectively integrate genAI into teaching and learning.

Responsible Use Agreement

A sample Responsible Use Agreement (RUA) for schools to download and edit. We advocate that schools co-create these with students, and this RUA is an example and may be used as a guide.

Tools to support curriculum integration

More tools to support curriculum integration and help educators think of learning activities.

Identifying Concerns

A printable activity/a guide to support an activity about identifying concerns that could be done on a whiteboard or similar.

AI and Creativity

A simple printable PDF handout with some key points about using generative AI without stifling creativity.
