In 2020, it is an expectation that Digital Technologies will be implemented into schools across New Zealand. The progress outcomes have been designed to not only teach our tamariki how to use technology, but also how to create with technology. Supporting and shifting our students from consumers of technology to creators of technology. Over time giving them opportunities to become contributors to local and global communities.
The programme also aligns with GCSN’s commitment to The Sustainable Development Goals; Goal 8: Decent work and economic growth, Goal 9: Industry, innovation and infrastructure and Goal 10: Reduced inequalities.
To support schools, teachers and communities in implementing Digital Technologies, GCSN have compiled a collection of resources and tools to help make this an easy transition for your school.
The New Zealand Government has released a booklet, Digital Technologies and the New Zealand Curriculum: Your guide to finding support and getting ready – view here, with all the information you need to make informed decisions about the new curriculum.
