Casebrook Intermediate is, ‘The School of Opportunity.’

We are large enough to offer a wide range of learning experiences but small enough to know our students well. We involve, motivate and challenge the students in all fields of learning - academic, the arts, sporting and cultural.

Programmes of learning are developed to meet the needs of the emerging adolescent student. We recognise these are varied and provide strong learning support and extension opportunities in all academic areas. Your child needs will be identified and addressed.

Students study with their Classroom teacher the core curriculum areas of Literacy, Numeracy, Science (in our specially appointed lab), Physical Education and the Social Sciences using the Inquiry method of learning.
Specialist teachers deliver programmes in The Arts, Music and Technology.
Highlights from these areas are the annual School Production, the CO2 Car Day, Creativity Plus and the various outdoor developments taken on as part of the extension programmes.
All students are involved in sport and have the opportunity to be part of the Inter-Intermediate competitions.
Eight music teachers provide tuition in a wide range of musical instruments and performance groups.

Developments in technology mean the world is forever changing. To enable our students to meet these challenges we are currently part of a Ministry of Education, ICT contract. We have a number of “COWS”, (computers on wheels.)
The use of iPod Touch, is another exciting development within the school.

Emerging adolescents have unique learning and social needs and at Casebrook we are committed to meeting these. Our Values programme and leadership opportunities encourage and teach the students to be self-managing. A pastoral care group including outside agencies provides home-school support.
