Canterbury ’quakes and virtual schooling grows to cover the fault - more please?
Description
This link to the December 2010 issue of my column in Computers in New Zealand Schools tells of ways in which Canterbury educators moved further online at the end of the 2010 school year pushed by their challenging circumstances following the earthquake.
Last Tuesday and the subsequent terrible events in Christchurch and Lyttleton are hard to comprehend and bear, and our condolences and best wishes go to everyone impacted in GCSN.
Perhaps, when we feel ready, we can also help the healing processes with support from GCSN and its partners including the University of Canterbury.
The University of Canterbury has continued to use Facebook to complement its home page described in my article. In addition, Darren Sudlow, CantaNet ePrincipal, also suggested greater use of the Ministry of Education VLN in a recent Twitter “The VLN could play a vital role in enabling displaced students to continue with their chosen programmes. Needs to happen.”
Maybe you have resources to add to assist.
Maybe the Minstry of Education VLN does too?
