GCSN Single Sign on Server

Ever wish that you could start up your web browser in the morning and sign in once, and then access all the key web applications you need, moodle, google apps, mahara, etc. without having to log into each one?

Well, with the help of some Ministry Funding we have installed a Single Signon Server (SSO) which enables you to do just that. This server talks directly to your school LDAP or AD to authenticate staff and students against a number of different services using their local network login. It doesn't matter which service you go to first, once you have authenticated, all the other applications will just let you in.

We have now switched over three trial schools to the service (Burnside, Christ's & Papanui) and they are using it to authentication with Moodle, Google Apps, Drupal and Mahara.

The Ministry funding allows us to cover the initial connection costs of up to 17 more Christchurch schools. At this stage the ongoing monthly costs for the service will be tiered based on school size (prices exclusive of gst):

LT 300 EFTS = $20 per month
LT 500 EFTS = $25 per month
GT 500 EFTS = $30 per month
